Splendors of Peru is an eleven day tour of Peru visiting Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu and the, as yet, relatively undiscovered Colca Canyon. For those who enjoy luxury, this is the ultimate way to visit the fascinating and diverse land of Peru.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Lima
Upon arrival in Lima, transfer to the Miraflores Park Hotel, a hotel with incredible ocean views. Overnight in a wonderful Ocean View Executive Suite for two nights.
Day 2 - Lima
After breakfast, spend the morning touring downtown Lima, known as "The City of Kings". Enjoy a fabulous lunch at The Perroquet Restaurant, one of Lima’s finest restaurants, serving International cuisine and traditional Peruvian dishes. Spend the evening at your leisure.
Day 3 - Cusco
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cusco where you will stay for a one night at Hotel Monasterio in a Deluxe Oxygen Enriched Room. After lunch at the hotel a private tour of this historic city and nearby Inca ruins. Evening at leisure.
Day 4 – Machu Picchu
Morning transfer will be arranged to Poroy from where you will travel to Machu Picchu via the luxurious Hiram Bingham train. Upon arrival, check in for a one-night stay at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel located in a privileged position at the entrance to this magnificent site. Upon returning to the hotel, enjoy afternoon "English style tea". Dinner will be served at Tampu, the hotel’s signature restaurant.
Day 5 - Cusco
Enjoy the wonders of Machu Picchu with your private guide and optional activities of your choice. Later return to Cusco via the Hiram Bingham train where upon arrival transfer to the Monasterio Hotel for a two night stay in a Deluxe Oxygen Enriched room.
Day 6 - Cusco
A private full day tour of the Sacred Valley, starting at Pisac Market and ruins. Lunch at the Huayocari house, with its wonderful views of the valley, before continuing this magical journey up the valley to Ollantaytambo, the last Inca town that still retains its original architecture. Evening at leisure.
Day 7 –Colca Canyon
Transfer to the airport for the flight, via Lima,to Arequipa, known as the “White City”, overlooked by the magical volcano “Misti”. Transfer to the Colca Canyon one of the deepest and most distinct canyons in the world, dotted with small towns that preserve their customs and traditions. Overnight for three nights at Las Casitas del Colca where you can spend your time in harmony with the canyon and its surroundings. Las Casitas Del Colca provides a rare opportunity to relax and reflect on the beauty and tranquility of the Colca valley. Full board is included for the entire stay.
Day 8 –Colca Canyon
Starting early morning, take half day tour to “Cruz del Condor” where you can marvel at the majestic flight of this sacred Andean bird.
Day 9 –Colca Canyon
Relax and enjoy all the activities the hotel offers you: bird watching, cooking Lessons, horseback riding, bike rides, and thermal waters.
Day 10 - Lima
Early morning transfer to Arequipa. Savor a delicious lunch at La Trattoria del Monasterio, an outstanding restaurant inside one of Arequipa’s leading architectural and historical attractions: the Convent of Santa Catalina. Enjoy a truly memorable culinary adventure that combines the finest of Arequipan and Italian cuisine. Later, transfer to the airport for the flight back to Lima. Overnight at the Miraflores Park Hotel, in an Ocean View Executive Suite.
Day 11 – Depart Lima
Day free at leisure before departure.
